Datura Time is an experimental 3rd person action-adventure game with elements of horror and survival. The game is currently being released as a public alpha version, and it will probably be expanded into a bigger and longer game in the near future.

The game is set in an alternative dimension, where the player is transported to a city known as the "Zone". In the Zone, they meet different characters (some friendly, some not), who soon make it clear to the player that they are not where they belong, and that there is a whole lot more going on than meets the eye. The players then assume the role of an unexpected hero, who must get back home again without getting killed.

The visual style of the game is heavily inspired by the look of 90's games, specifically those that were developed for the original PlayStation and Sega Saturn consoles. Low polygon models, pixelated textures, jerky animations and low-resolution CRT screenspace effects dominate the visual style to help create a nostalgic and visually delicious vibe.

Gameplay-wise, the game mechanics are inspired by classic games such as Alone in the Dark, Resident Evil, LSD Dream Emulator, Silent Hill, Mizzurna Falls, Manhunt, Max Payne, Grand Theft Auto and the original Half Life.

Datura Time is currently being developed using Unity 2019. In addition, the game uses the following assets for getting the "low-res" PSX-visual style (in addition to employed low-poly modelling and texturing processes):

    - OLD TV Filter by Vortex Game Studios
    - psx_retroshader (https://github.com/dsoft20/psx_retroshader)

    Any review comments/suggestions/criticism welcome!
