Hey, I just found this out yesterday; I have unity 5 personal edition, but apparently I can add a customizable splash screen on standalone and iOS. Android, I cant change directly, but its a shared setting so if I add to iOS it works. I tested it by running it on iOS, to check if it wasn't just a UI bug or something, and it worked. (Havent tested standalone/android)

The "made with unity personal edition" splash screen only shows sometimes, but it's after the custom splash screen (if I don't assign any, it's just white), and I haven't seen it stay for more than 1 sec at max.

I'm pretty sure this is not supposed to happen (for example, here it's stated only the pro edition can add a custom splash screen, and on my laptop running unity 5, I can't.)

Don't know what I'm supposed to do. I don't want to get legal problems or something for this, so I figured I'd post here.

Edit: Here is a video showing what this looks like in Unity: https://vid.me/zp1m
    Unity version: 5.0.0f4

bump, want to release my game, but I'm afraid of doing it without the "made with unity" splash screen.
Can I somehow "trick it in", by adding it as a custom one? How would I access the file?

From what I've gathered through other threads, this is actually the way it should be. You can customise your static splash image(s) in iOS, but right after it shows you'll get the new animated splash.

    Thank you for the reply,
What threads have you read, could you link them?
I don't have this feature on my laptop, and sometimes the unity splash doesnt even show, so currently I'm very convinced this is a bug, not a feature.

Mmmnope - I just devour threads, and some information sticks, occasionally ;)

I'd give them a bug report just to be safe. If you SUSPECT it's a bug, report it anyway. Can't hurt to let them know early if there is a problem.

On an iphone 4s the custom splash shows for a couple of seconds, and it seems the unity splash never shows (or at most rarely) On an iphone 5 the custom splash first shows for like 0.5 sec, then then the unity splash shows for ~2-3 seconds

You last mentioned this on the main "UNITY 5 is released thread" as linked to by Aurore on Mondayish he replied moderately eidetically.

I too believe this is "By design" and certainly would not expect UT to take out punitive measures against authors releasing games "without the splash" since it is out of the authors control.

RULE 1: Don't sweat the small stuff.
RULE 2: It's all small stuff.

Alright, thanks. But this is not "by design" how orb described in his post; It's not the image in "the resolution popup" or whatever, and like I said it must be something wrong because I can't reproduce this on my windows laptop.

    Hmm I read it again.

I still say would not expect UT to take out punitive measures against authors releasing games "without the splash" since it is out of the authors control.

But report the bug if you genuinely feel there is one of course!
