    Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen,

I just spent quite some time on a custom installer application that I am thinking about releasing open source. I am looking for some feedback, of course I am currently using this installer with my own video game but I would be happy to share it if there are willing participants to contribute.

I based it off the Steam color scheme, but choose my own colors so I am not using the exact color scheme as it.

Thank you my fellow unity developers!

    Respectfully Submitted,
    Ryan

Is this an installer written in Unity, or an installer written for Unity?

It was an installer written for Unity games. I wrote it in C# and XAML Using WPF.

Good idea. It does have some very flexible code. Its as simple as putting in a zip file of all your project files, and its flexible in that you can add all the registry information. I am still working on the uninstall version of it, but I am trying to make it work really well with unity projects.

I suggest getting in contact with Caitlyn and seeing if you can get that on the Asset Store even though it's not a Unity package.

There are screenies there, but the forums been a bit buggy since the update. They show up on my laptop, but not my desktop PC.

It looks pretty much exactly like the Steam install dialogue.

Out of curiosity, why does the end have a modal pop-up dialog instead of just another page at the end?

Looks too much like Steam installer. I would be careful with doing such a similarity...

I am probably going to change that to an end screen instead of a pop-up window, because in all actuality I do not like like ugly windows GUI.

I could change the colors so they are a silver based color. It would take only a few minutes for me to restyle the colors. Like I said, its all my code, and all my XAML styling.

Thank you. I have decided to go ahead and submit it to the asset store. What would be a considerable price range for people willing to purchase? I am thinking of selling it really cheap.

How long will this take? I'm interested in testing it out for my game. Also keen to contribute of course! Open source is where it is at!

although nice, i would go for c++ solution (aka not .net depending). So you don't have to install .net runtime to be able to execute the installer. (thus easier to spread among computers. Also it will be possible to deploy on Linux too, using the installer. Not everyone wants mono installed just to run the installer)

Is this MSI-based? Does it register the program in Add/Remove Programs? Does it have uninstall support? Does it support setting up registry keys? Does it support upgrading/patching?
