Custom 2D particle in particle system

    Hi, I find particle system quite good, but I wanted to use my own image, so I wanted to change the default particle. However it requies material, so I've created one. But once I selected texture it stretched on 3D sphere instead of being just in it's orginal state. Here is how it looks:

    Looks kinda creepy :D
    Is it possible to just use 2D texture instead of 3D material?

    This is just a preview image. Once you USE your material on an actual object in the scene it will conform to the object. Go ahead and create a plane or a quad and apply the material, it'll be flat.

    It is indeed flat, however.. well just take a look:

    I didn't applied any particle effects, just default particle system.

    Which program did you use to create the texture? Because it seems that the background of the image you used isn't transparent. Try to zoom the original image and you'll see a light grey background and lot of filtering artifacts. Alternatively reduce the particle size in the particle system to achieve a result more similar to the original image.

    Ok, I figured it out. Image is OK. Problem was in wrong shader selected. It didn't know what it does, so I left it as it is. After switching a lot of them I finally found one which make the job just right: Unlit/Transparent Cutout.
