Curved UI asset does not seem to be the same as showed on Unity Tutorials

I am currently trying to build a VR interface with a curved GUI so I purchased the CurvedUI asset from the asset store to make things easier. On the tutorial the canvas object automatically becomes curved when the Curved UI Settings are applied as a component. When I apply the curved UI component there is no change to my canvas and when I change the angle of my component it does not get any curvier or less curved. Basically it seems like the component is not functioning and I wanted to know if anyone new how to get passed this. In the below prefab you'll notice the angle of the curve does not match the GUI because it is dysfunctional.
