Curl error 51: Cert verify failed: UNITYTLS_X509VERIFY_FLAG_EXPIRED

Just like @cunodavida, it doesn't work. Splash shows up, goes away, NOTHING!

 

had the same problem, entering playmode caused a crash
Dissabling "pauze on error" in the console worked for me

Same error, just pops out of nowhere, I was working with a build I had manually downgraded to 2018 from 2019 and this error just appeared, first time seeing it

 

So the spyware inside unity is apparently trying to phone home to a website with an expired SSL. Brilliant.

 

Still causing me problems also.

 

For now disable pause on error to be able to build/test your project

the error is from Unity's server side.

Maybe move this thread out of "experimental features/GameTune" so someone at Unity will see it is everyone getting it.

 

I've pulled the alarm bell at Unity internally (though my contacts). I think the right people are being focused.

Yeah, I started reciving the error too, after logging in today (I wasn't logged in before on this PC). I logged out and it still doesn't disappear.

 

I've received word that there are "eyes on this in Unity".

I also just started getting this error today.

 

I blocked Unity.Exe internet connection from firewall settings. Problem solved.

Nah this attitude won't do. Unity's account checking / data collecting / flat out spying is causing issues for everyone. A "oh well I guess it'll get fixed soon" attitude is not appropriate.

I get it on random machines.
I think it's somehow related to windows updates.

It says no connection, even though I obviously have a connection to be posting this.

I'm also getting this error. Also my tag manager has been completely cleared but all gameobjects can still use the tags that existed before. Think this is related to the error?

 

You don't need "contacts" to know Unity are aware of this. You just need to glance at their Twitter.

Either way, I hope we get a good explanation for this, especially those of us with subscriptions who thought we opted out of it. I will happily submit feedback to UT but I don't appreciate software phoning home when it purports to tell me it won't.

I got a solution, disable WiFi, and use Unity in offline mode.
It works for me.

Same S*** here... When I press play in the scene it crash the editor

 

Just got my game in the google play store, downloaded it, and app stuck after splash screen. Ran adb logcat and sure enough there was the same error =>
Curl error 51: Cert verify failed: UNITYTLS_X509VERIFY_FLAG_EXPIRED

 

For 2 hours I am trying to find a solution for this. And I have a cmd tool installed name curl.exe. After uninstalling this I get the same error. So this is not a third-party application's fault. CURL Error 51. And I also found that when I open unity in offline mode there is NO ERROR, it works fine. The ERROR only appears when you are connected with the internet. So, you can work in offline mode without any issue.

 

If possible try to build your game in offline mode. And if its works then let me know.

 

Please also post what kind of information was attempted to be transmitted.

 

I created and uploaded the .aab yesterday so don't think rebuilding will resolve the issue...

Edit: just ran adb logcat again and found another error =>
Curl error 6: Could not resolve host: cdp.cloud.unity3d.com

Still getting this error, feel really bad for everyone that is hitting this. Thankful it is not effecting dev for me, like it is so many others.

Gotta say it, Unity needs to drop in here and at least give us a status update. Stating the obvious, and as a long time supporter and advocate of Unity, but many of us pay for Unity via subscription, that implies a higher level of support and engagement w the community. Sadly, not seeing that here, nor on other issues lately :|.

 

I created a game with name "Flappy Crashed" and then it crashed. i hope unity fix their servers soon
