This is a small remake project that I've been working on for the past week or so.

Cuboid Jump is a small game where you have to jump from block to block. Pretty simple really...

I plan on initially releasing the game for Windows and Mac on Itch.io and then do a stripped down port to android.

I have regular updates over at http://www.moongate-uk.co.uk/ usually under the DDP or Daily Development Post tag.

I'll post the links and a few images to the blog posts themselves every time I post one.

    Latest Update:
    20/02/2015: OPEN BETA: lparkermg.itch.io/cuboid-jump

Post them now! And actually, might be a good idea to edit your first post to include them. People like to see something right away, and you only get one chance at a first impression!

Also, if there's one thing I've learned as a web developer it's that asking people for that one extra click (for example, to go to your blog instead of getting the info here) is often times one task too many. Get people hooked with as little effort on their end as possible!

All that said, I did go and look at your game (Only pictures! No reading for me!) and while the idea does seem interesting (why are some cubes translucent?), your screenshots look almost exactly the same except for color. This is probably because of how the game actually plays, which is fine. But a still image might not be the most effective way of conveying the idea of your game. Consider recording short clips of it being played and save them as gifs. If you don't know how to do that, learn!

Also I've done two videos one showing the tutorial level and the other showing in game footage.
Warning: The sound on the videos may be a bit loud I am working on it...

If you want to have a look at some more images hope over to my blog at http://www.moongate-uk.co.uk

I hope you all enjoy it, if you have any questions or comments feel free to ask.

So it was a good night last night and I managed to get the framework for my powerups working and sorted.

I've now moved that across to the tutorial scene where I've added the powerups section of the tutorial.
Warning I thought I've fixed the sound issue but it turns out it may still burst your eardrums. Make sure your volume is turned down a bit when watching the video.

Below are two of the few images taken from the last hour of development for Cuboid Jump.

I think I've managed to wrap my head around the animation side of things.
It's mainly the game over screen (which now fades in when you fall off), and the Freeze Charge Display which shows how much freeze charge you have left.

I've decided to put Cuboid Jump out for an online beta test, it's currently unfinished as you can tell by the length selection menu and the fact that you can't exit out of the tutorial.

Be careful the volume on the sfx are pretty loud. I haven't had the chance to implement volume controls at the moment.

You can find the web player at lparkermg.itch.io/cuboid-jump

Feel free to leave any feedback here.
