I want to develope a cross platform (iOS/Android) mobile 2D game. I read that, if you want to target iOS as well, you need to do it on a Mac. Is that the case in unity, too?

If not, does Unity run on Linux?

    Thank you.

You need a Mac to compile the game in xcode and to use the upload tools for app store.

    Does not run on Linux.

@Ostwind is spot on... And specifically this is an Apple requirement, not a Unity one. You can use the Windows version to make games for iOS, but you'll need a Mac to make the build and run the game on an iOS device.

Okay, thank you guys. Guess I'll just stick to android. Damn Apple.

Edit: Topic Linux: WINE won't help, doesn't it?

He can use it on his own risk like the asset author says in the manual. I've been using it for over a year for test builds and it's a huge time saver but I'm not sure if its good idea to submit to app store cause of Apple rules.
