Is it possible to do so without script and how?

i should highlight that i already tried using halo effects but since i have multiple lights in my scene. the halo didnt 'stick'.

Do you mean emission maps? Just toss an emission map onto your standard shader it should glow then.

set the emission of the material above 1 and set the camera to HDR. You should get the glow effect. :)

sorry if i failed to explain the question clearly. I need the glow to form something similar to a glow outline around the mesh like as if someone moused over and selected the mesh thus causing a glow outline to surround it.
