I've been trying to make some what of a prefab editor for scriptable objects and I can't really see a good way to do it, hoping someone could shed some light.

what I want to do is have an environment that I can spawn a model from a prefab (GameObject variable on the scriptable object) and draw some stuff using gizmos from the variables on the SO, hope that's clear enough.

the only way I can see doing that is doing all that stuff in the scene(separate scene or just up in the sky), have a button on the inspector to spawn the object, lock the camera there and start drawing stuff, but that's very hacky and while I love quick and dirty solutions i'm looking for something a little more "professional".

maybe I should just actually use the prefab editor and create a converter to create the SO I need? (just thought of that, looks like the way to go imo)

    any pointers?

edit: lol, I just finished doing a basic version of the converter and it was super easy, still wonder if it's possible to create such an environment though.
