Create new sorting layer via Code?

    Hi,

    does someone happen to know how to create new sorting Layers via code? Best I have found so far is someone asking the same question on Answers , but w/o any answer...

    Or should I just request this on http://feedback.unity3d.com ?

    I assume you cannot, just as you cannot create new tags or layers via code.
