It looks like your ran out of memory. How much RAM do you have and did you by any chance disable the page file?

Are you on a 32-bit OS? Because if you notice the parenthesis next to the 4GB, it is reporting only 2.63GB are usable.

Edit: I just realized it states it's 32-bit on the screenshot. I don't know how I missed that earlier. :p

That's the point: you don't want to disable it. Disabling it would lead to such issues.

I do not think it's a 32-bit issue, as Unity's memory usage as seen in the screenshot is nowhere 2 GB mark.

What else did you have running?

Maybe a shot of your task manager memory usage would help

Page files need to be re-enabled and you can't do much about having an Intel GPU. Also you have better CPU/GPU than I have so you need to write down what you have installed (or just copy the Start Menu folder and all your personal files to separate hd) and clean install Windows 10 64 bit while you can still get it for free. Actually, you'll have to upgrade to Windows 10 64bit. It is faster and it does has fewer bugs and uses less resources.

I have Windows 8.1 in an old Acer Laptop (GMA 950 onboard yeah I know what you're thinking.. but it's fine for me as I plan to target mobiles I guess). Anyway, I have 3 problems:

I installed Unity 5.2, it opened but then it looked like the degfault lighting or something was buggy for GMA, here is the screenshot:

It opens like THAT, but it does run preview, but when I try to open any other Projects (which opens fine in 5.1.3 fine ofc), the editor crashes (no error at all, the editor simply closes, the process simply ended - couldn't find in Taskmanager).

(Usually, you have the editor closes away and the Splash pops up, but the 5.2 editor closed and nothing opened. I tried again, the same thing happens with every project).

I installed 5.1.3 again and checked both, everything works fine in 5.1.3, but in 5.2, the frame rates drops to half of what 5.1.3 gives.
