Note the user is standing up and using their arms.

Now if we add in weighted VR controls or wrist weights, the average game developer could transform their level of fitness just by doing their job in VR.

    E.g.

    Or

So if you see the level designers and 3d modellers in your studio start to get fitter from VR, remember to pester Unity for a node base VR programming system that generates code.

Possibly could be due to vomiting uncontrollably thanks to motion sickness.

Hmm new category of VR eating disorders, or VR usage as a slimming aid. Could start a whole new VR fitness fad.

I don't think vr disorders are far-fetched though, some people can be obsessive.

VR as a technology is probably only in the hands of a few thousand people at the moment, yet it has the potential to provide people with experiences that they could never have without it.

    Will some become obsessed?

    Probably.

If you could experience 'life' with the standards of Notch just by putting on a HMD would you?

I want to try some VR exergaming with my Vive when I get time and an exercise bike or something. I want to make a kind of pedal plane kind of thing in vr that you can fly around.

Some VR developers have said they have been losing a small amount of weight from testing there games so with the VR editor I'd expect it to go up to 2-3 times as much.

I have pretty good control when it comes to moderation of things I enjoy. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have the worst VR addiction though.

I dunno. I have a feeling it will make things worse. Once this becomes consumer tech my reason to go outside will be essentially zero.

Of course not, outside you will have weather and wind and sunlight (I suppose they can be mimicked with VR ac).

OK outside you will have about 8k resolution stereoscopic light field vision, fully ray traced for free.

Yes, along with things that slither, things that skitter, and things that string. I'd rather have a sun room or enclosed porch.

By the way, just to give you an example, we're getting an average of six ground wasp (yellow jacket) hives per year in our front lawn despite keeping it regularly trimmed. Not to mention they grow the spiders big around here and we have some with the nastiest venom too.

Welcome to Virginia. There's a reason I stay indoors as much as possible. :p

At least you won't atrophy - if you get full body tracking.

Nuh uh, in the article you linked it said 2,000 of those were residing in a single home! No one got attacked though.
