Hi, i am making a 2d game with unity and i found that sprite over the internet :

Probably it has copyright, but if i transform that character in this:

Can i use this (after changes) or it still has copyright ?
    Thank you

It looks like a completely new character to me, so I don't see why you would get into any copyright-related issues.

Neither Elvis nor me are lawyers. You should contact the original author of the LSWi assets and ask their permission.

I cannot find any common between original and modified image. They are absolutely different, I think. It is the same as create new sprite from scratch.

If I were an author, I would say 'yes, use it'. But maybe it because i'm too gentle)

If you just recolor and add stuff like hair over to existing one (like it looks like from sample pic) it's surely still not allowed without permission especially if you use the same animation sets only "reskinned".

The fine print says to give credit to "Angryboy" if used in games except for the beams which are from other games. I'd say that's all the permission you need, but then again, I'm no lawyer.

Sorry, can i ask you another thing ?
In some sprites is written "Give credit to .....". What does it means ? I have to pay the author ? Or just say in my game that the sprites are made by him ?
    Thank you :)
