    Hi,

I downloaded a model that uses a generic rig. It is an alien soldier, I want to change it to use humanoid rig. I never use a 3d modeler software. It is possible to do this with Unity or I will need to use a software like Blender?

Have you tried simply switching the setting from "generic" to "humanoid" in the import settings. A lot of times, mecanim can automatically figure it out, if the rig is close enough to it's expected lay-out. Sometimes you might need to configure the avatar, but it still might be possible.

I try that, but it shows a yellow exclamation mark. But when I try to use my mecanim animations. it works.
    Thank you @kdgalla
It was not needed to config the avatar.

I'm not sure, but that could mean that there are bones missing from the avatar. If that's the case then it could mean that some animations won't look right.

My game only uses a small number of animations. All of them works.
