    When crash occurs, a fatal error pops, show messages:

    Overflow in memory allocator.
    UnityEngine.ParticleSystem:Simulate()
    ...

    I check the timeline asset, but dont get any useful info. If the controltrack muted, the crash not happened.

    Who knows how to avoid this crash?

    Can you file a bug with a repro case that includes offending particle system?

    I dont find the reason for this crash, but I found two ways to avoid.
    1. the particle caused crash has an animator component, when I disabled the animator, the crash doesn't happened.
    2. when I unchecked the [ControlPlayableAsset.Advanced.ControlParticleSystems], the crash doesn't happened.
    So , anyone can tell me the reason ?

    Btw, it seems only crash with play mode

    Unfortunately, no, I don't know why that crashes. I haven't seen anything like that before. With ParticleSystems in particular, there are a lot of variables.

    Maybe the crash is familiar to someone else.

    Filing a bug is the best option, because it gives us all the relevant information including callstacks, version numbers, etc. Sometimes it is an issue that fixed in a later version, and our QA team will verify that.

    Any update on this? I have experiencing the same issue using Unity 2019.2.2f1. It is quite frustrating since the core of my game depends on Timeling animating spell casting.

    We've fixed a few crashes since this was posted, but I'm not sure if this one in particular is resolved. Maybe @zzh_cd can post the issue ID?

    Still happening when particle systems are on an inactive game object and made active. Tracker post said it was solved in some 2020 alphas..may upgrade and try because it halts everything.
