Contact contractors

So, someone has indicated on Connect that they would like to work on a job I posted, however there doesn't seem to be any way to contact them! I can't find a way to start a new messaging conversation with them anywhere, the only buttons are "Accept" and "Skip" but without talking to the guy further I really can't move forward in the hiring process!

If you click Accept you'll begin to message. We'll be changing the copy on that button soon.

 

I think there really should be a way for the applicant to send some sort of message to ask questions. Many posters don't add enough detail and it's helpful to be able to ask these things or send at least a short message explaining why you think you're a fit for the project. It's really odd.

So by clicking "Accept" I'm not actually hiring them, just starting a message thread? I'm confused.

Correct. You will never contractually hire anyone from clicking a button on Connect. We are a sourcing platform.

Sure, but does "Accept" not take down the job posting?

 

Nope. It's just allows for chat with that person - I've been 'accepted', and the job I applied to still stands at the list. I agree that the wording is confusing tho.

 

I can not find the accept button I see the folks applying just can not see an accept button.
