Is there an elegant way to connect pipes in a smooth bend?

I looked at a few options. Bridging seems very ugly and hard to get a smooth bend. The experimental bezier tool was hard to control.

So, I've been extruding and adjusting the rings by hand - very fiddly.

Speaking of which, why can't I select an edge loop if it's the _end_ of the cylinder? If I select any line along a joined segment I can "Select Edge Loop", but if I select one edge along the end of the cylinder, I get the warning "Nothing to Loop"?

Hi! You can use a "Torus" shape for that- just set the degrees (probably 90, in these images?) and matching side count + radius, done! :)

(In the Future there will be a proper spline system, of course :) )
