Connect with BetterTouchTool

Hey,

I would like to put some shortcuts and sliders for my custom editor scripts onto the TouchBar of a MacBook Pro. I found the App BetterTouchTool that allows to run Apple Scripts and Custom Shell Scripts but I don't really know how to make the tool communicate with my custom editor. Did anyone already use this or have any suggestions on how to implement this?
If someone would have a basic example just to forward a value of a slider to my editor script would be amazing, so that I can understand the basics
