Conflict of Head Movement and Facial Expression (how to solve it?)

    I have two fbx files contains the whole body movement and the face expression and they both have the head movement recorded. For the head movement, I need to use the one with the whole body so I want to ignore the head movement from the facial expression. How can I do that?

    Are facial expressions driven by bones or morph/blend shapes?

    Either way - you can mask out the neck/head bone from the expression animation. It will have to be on an additive layer with a layer/avatar mask applied.

    You could also perhaps try merging the files into one fbx. If there's one flaw in Unity's animation system, its the difficulty in getting different fbx files to work together if you're an artist rather than a programmer.

    I thought about it but as you pointed out, it is also not easy for an artist because we collect these two files from different device and OS (Facial is from iPhoneX using Mac, the body is using Windows). If we can find a way to merge them in Unity, that should be the best way for this issue.. :(

    Do you mean this function?

    I'm using blendshapes extracted from iPhoneX but the above function says "Use skeleton from XXX" so I'm kinda confused here..

    Please
    review the animation material in the learn section. The 'features' of the engine needed are beyond your current knowledge. The information needed is in the training material.
