Configurable Joint freak-out in 2018.3 that I don't see in 2018 2.8

Hello, over time I've experienced a lot of the dreaded Unity joints freak-out. Lately, with Unity 2018 2.8, I've been pleased to have some configurable joints working that are pretty solid, even when I do not-nice things to them like have them pass through other colliders.

It looks like the Physics update in 2018.3 is causing these freak-outs to return. Does anyone have any thoughts about this? If there's a way to tweak the joints in 2018.3 to make them more stable, I'd love to know.
Perhaps it's the case though that even though in general there are physics improvements, that there are also some new problems.

Here is the joint freak-out in action in 2018.3

Here is the same (working nicely) in 2018 2.8

    Hello,
We're running into similar problems. Could you maybe make the videos public so that I can compare if it's the same?
Also did you ever figure out why it was happening exactly and how to solve it?

Hi, I made the videos public again. I never did find out was happening. I just backed off to Unity 2.8
