Where on the Unity Website or Youtube can I find videos on how to use Unity 2D 5.0 version? Everything I find is either too advanced for me or is about an older version. Also, are there any other free platforms I can use in sync to learn the simplest basics of creating games?

What ARE the limits of PlayMaker in relation to say Game Maker or another program such as that? Can it manipulate variables and deltaTime?

I barely used Game Maker, I was going to, but the reason was I used other programs such as Construct 2, these programs are great but only for prototyping, most people complained about performance specially when it gets to mobile devices, the fact that Playmaker uses Unity3d Game engine, it is by far better in performance than any of the "Game Making" programs that are on the market. Playmaker is like Game Maker on steroids.

That is just my experience from talking to users and research, maybe others have different experiences, I can read code but cannot write it, I use playmaker to develop my games for Android and usually even if an action doesn't exist, someone in the forums will create one for what you need because the community is super helpful.

Learning about the 'older' versions of Unity isnt a bad thing. It will help you understand the engine and the changes that have been made. Start with the learning section, the documentation, and the live training.
Its all good especially the basics.
