When I open up the demo scene, there are no GameObjects displayed within the scene and the Play button doesn't do anything. Am I missing something?

Haven't tried out the last few releases.. are you going to be using github or bitbucket for future changes?

Alright, it seems that it was my Unity version that was preventing me from properly opening the demo scene. When I open the demo scene, I get the error attached as a screenshot. The first error I can fix; the second I am not sure of.

it seams you are using the web player for this , note: webplayer does not have system.io.writeallbytes , you need to switch platforms to windows build or some such.

also if you know how to fix thos first 2 warnings please let me know how you fixed them as those warnings have always irritated me , just never took the time to fix them . also @Player7 no i will not be using github as i still don't quite understand how that whole thing works , if you'd like you can open up a github and post a link and i'll included it in the op.

its worth learning how git works really

and you can always use a gui client like smartgit http://www.syntevo.com/smartgit/download or sourcetree (buggy)

is number of tutorials on youtube for it, client specific or general

github seems better for this project, bitbucket works aswel

@dudester I have this conversation with developers all the time, and I know this is only my opinion, but I offer it to you anyway. Getting into git takes an afternoon and the benefits are incredible. I am sure you know this already :D, but if you have a couple of minutes, here is a simple guide that helped me get my bearings straight with git: http://rogerdudler.github.io/git-guide/

For a programmer you are awfully impatient my friend. Well, best of luck with your project in any case. o/

yeah that program just never worked like it was supposed to it's the reason i gave up on it , github always crashes or asks me to go to console to type commands cause it can't synchronize , so yeah got over using it like 4 months ago after trying like 10 times .
And now i tried again and it's still not working, to me github is like blender , impossible to get working due to commonly used buttons and functions being all over the place , like deleting a repo requires like 10 steps and then it goes and throws errors after trying to create a new git with the same name cause reasons, and synchronize and pull and push , why none of those work is anyone's guess , all they do is spam errors and ask me to debug , seriously amazed people use it, can't wait for google to make something like it then it will work.

Also sorry for the tone , i'm super irritated with this program , because of all the reasons listed above , i'm usually very patient , but this program has been irritating me for a while now and i'm just over trying to get it to work.

I learned how to git properly with this combo...

github desktop for doing branches, commits, syncing
    textwerangler for githubt mergetool
    command line for conflict resolving

Git can be frustrating at first - I definitely don't blame you.

I use an explorer add on so I don't need to touch the tools:
    https://tortoisegit.org/about/

It's all right-click actions from explorer. Once I started using it, I never had any problems.

The only thing that still bothers me about git is when a merge doesn't save. Then you commit a file that has a bunch of

    ========== SOME RANDOM STUFF ======>
    asdfasdfasdfasdfasdf
<====== WHAT YOU ACTUALLY MEANT TO DO======
    asdfasdfasdfasdf
    =============================

    everywhere.

If Merge even worked for me I'd be mildly happy , that does not work at all , neither does sync or commit , they all say fail.
Thanks for the tips I'll look into it.

Well if you get around to trying again at some point, I recommend textwrangler for your mergetool. It's pretty great.

A new branch or even a new git repo is better than nothing - and it seems you changed the code so much since the last commit 6 months ago that anyway the code history is irrelevant.

I'm confused, is it finite or infinite terrain now ?

its now finite , with built in editor editing , Im busy writing the docs again to describe how it works , now you can edit the terrain and save it as is , then build a navmesh or lightmap etc etc . Hope to be done with all the docs soon.
Then ill upload to google drive and be done with it , Github doesn't work even if i create a new folder it still spams errors and goes ballistic so i'm giving up on it.
maybe in the future i'll try figure it out.

Ok so i finally fixed github , I'm uploading as we speak .
    The controls are as follows.
Ctrl + right mouse down is editing terrain , set height in editor.
Alt + right mouse down is to paint the terrrain .

Its still a work in progress so dont expect much , haven't tried in play mode.
Note when compiling the terrain will disappear and re-appear after its done .
also note you should click the save terrain bool before compiling anything , as this is not done yet.
Still lots of bugs to fix but its getting there

It doesn't work.. like in the editor playing just locks up,

"also note you should click the save terrain bool" with it on or off? its broken can't be turned on for me..

but no errors.. like i said it just locks the editor..
also you got multiple scene files in the project.. its a little confusing as to which one is setup properly I believe the 'test' scenes are not.

thanks on getting the github setup.. its much easier to track changes and get newer updates now so thanks.

when you click it it will go off automatically I'll include a debug.log saying it has been saved.also the locking up is very strange works fine for me.

Hello, any chances of getting this on the asset store? This would shake things a bit, with all of these insanely expensive terrain systems out there.

Anyway, I'm using Mercurial (hg) VCS for my works, it's easier to use. AFAIK Bitbucket supports it, not sure if github does support other VCS than git itself.
