    Jack's Medieval Castle Interior Pack!

    Hey guys,

I'm pleased to announce the first in a series of packs (fingers crossed!) for the Unity Asset Store - Jack's Medieval Castle Interior Pack. It's the product of lots of blood, sweat and tears - I hope you all like it!

    Features:
    • Over 100 AAA quality models
    • Three distinct theme sets - Castle halls, Catacombs and Throne Room
    • High quality texture maps - 2K - 4K texture size for maximum clarity
    • Metal/Roughness and Specular/Gloss PBR support (where applicable)
    • Heightmaps included (where applicable)
    • Modular design - all walls and interior frames are mathematically equal and modular, allowing full space and size customisation
    • Premade example scenes
    • Modeled after real Romanesque medieval design references
Right now the design is about 66% complete. I'm working on the final theme set, so hopefully it will be done before the end of the month!

Give me your thoughts! Screenshots courtesy of UBER shaders and Scion Post-Processing.

    Looking good,
just in 3rd image the pillar in somehow inside the wall (and then not matching the stones),
and 4th image left side wall tiling looks bit strange.. ?

    Gorgeous! Feels very Elder-Scrollsy!

I had the exact same thoughts. I also feel like the dining hall's floor stones should be larger, but that's probably just my personal preference.

    Thanks for the kind words!

As per the screenshots, the kinks are being worked out. Thanks for pointing them out.

What sort of items would you like to see in a throne room set? (Besides the throne, of course ;)) I'm beginning work on the foundations in the next couple of days. Hopefully the package will be done within two weeks.

    Hah!

It's actually not that bad at all - normal calculation makes it look higher, though!

Another WIP - I've added some era paintings to the walls and a candelabra. The upper level has been done, along with wood railings. Finally, the throne enclave has been created.

    Thank you :)

Going to submit it to the Asset Store this weekend, so I'm guessing early next week at the latest! I'll be posting a thread in the Asset Store forum as soon as it's live.

Here are a couple more beauty shots. I'm quite proud of the throne

(A few more props added to the scene).

The props are too clean, like they was never used.

Just remember that this is royalty - we currently see medieval objects in their worn state. A king only has the best ;)

Yeah...we always think of medieval stuff as worn and dirty. However, they were new at one time and if we have a game set in medieval times, why would every building look like it is 400 years old? lol I never did get that.

Just an update - I have only about 4 models left to complete, so the actual content should be done by tomorrow afternoon. Then I'll be creating the demo scenes - the pack should be submitted to the Asset Store Monday latest. Expect a release early next week!

EDIT: I've just been told that submission times are 2-3 weeks now - so I guess that's the wait time!

Another update - all the models are packaged. I also added low poly versions of almost ever model that warranted it so you can have LOD performance upgrades OR you can use them on mobile :)

Tomorrow I will be building the example scenes and then the submitting will happen... Excited!

Looks very nice. Have you tested this with Dungeon Architect (https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/53895)? It would be cool to be able to generate some of this at run-time using that tool.

No reason why it won't work. If the asset is modular, it should work...just like 3DForge assets work. It doesn't need any integration by you.

    @longroadhwy

Just remember, you can use it with DA in the same way he used 3dForge's interior pack, the cathedral example.

There are no external walls for this asset. It is purely interior.
