Background is meh. Use solid colors or gradients. No tiled things. Text is difficult to read. And make everything centered. And text formatting and capitalization.

Not hating, but just some feedback... it is about on par with websites from at least 10 years ago. Read more about `usability`... the background is terribly distracting. There doesn't seem to be any really obvious navigation or organization. It kind of looks like a basic document. You could probably do better if you use a WYSIWYG web page editor of some kind and lay it out better.

You could save yourself a lot of time if you'd Google SquareSpace, either to look at their designs or just go for it ;P
I'm planning on building my site around their solid foundation.

I think an improvement, would be delete what you've done, download a template somewhere, and start again.

I think in general you need a balanced color scheme. If you have to have an image background make it either a big seamless image that doesn't look like tiles, and that doesn't make it hard to read the text. Then you need to choose text/heading colors that stand out clearly and are complementary rather than the `almost can't read it` colors you have now. Then I'd make your screenshots bigger. Maybe also look into centering the content by adding left and right margins. I think then the page needs a bit more structure, make the headings text bigger than the rest and have sub-headings for a quick glance. Is there any kind of navigation at all? Is this a one-page website? Even if there is only one page, maybe add a navigation menu or bar at the top which at least hyperlinks to places within the page. At the moment there is just too much noise and not enough clarity, so it is hard to USE it.
