Hi as part of a dutch equivalent to Googles summer of code, a developer is improving Blenders Collada support in particular adding support for animation data.

Unfortunately there is almost no publically available Collada 1.4 files available that contain animation.

If you are interested in having Collada support improve in Blender (and in particular work well with the tools in your pipeline :) ) please provide files to test and validate the exporter and importer. (either Blend files or Collada 1.4 files)

You can provide them either to myself (LetterRip AT gmail dot com), post links to them here, or contact the coder who will be doing the work directly.

    His site is located here,

(his email address is there also).

Let me/him know if the file can be made publically available (ie it would be good to have Collada files that all Collada developers can use for testing...).

    Thanks for your help,

    Tom Musgrove

    Hi Tom,

Nice to see you on the Unity forums. There are a number of fellow "Blenderheads" here, so you are amongst friends. :D

I'd like to help, but I don't know of many applications which can export Collada files to test Blender's importer. There's Equinox 3D ( ), but that has very limited animation support. I'll look around my HD, I may have something that I may have forgotten...

As for Collada export from Blender, I think there are several of us here that would be able to help test that.

    Thanks for your efforts!
