Cloud Software Developer for Virtual Reality System

Join our team and ensure our innovative VR experiences are backed by enterprise class services. We are looking for a passionate, experienced and skilled software developer to envision, architect, build, maintain and enhance services in the cloud that support user-facing VR learning experiences including learner, facilitator and administrative roles. We’re a small team so you will wear many hats but own the backend. Develop secure, reliable, scalable, maintainable, supportable and recoverable database, speech, natural language and other backend capabilities, including potential applications of machine learning. The qualified candidate can think broadly, apply best practices, design, build, test deploy and manage solutions used by our end user software and ultimately ensure our backend services support a high-quality and high value experience for a variety of application and user roles. The position may also involve play testing of VR-based training solutions.

Location: UW CoMotion HQ in Seattle.

Remote, part-time roles negotiable.

Requirements:

• Skills: Java, Python, MongoDB, Azure
• Preferred: experience with operations and deployments in cloud service provider environments, applied machine learning, proficiency with additional programming languages and databases.
• Skill and passion for building and running enterprise class software in the cloud
• Big picture thinking combined with attention to detail and quality.
• Communicate clearly in speech and written word, work effectively both individually and in collaboration with others
• Be able to comfortably use and perform required tests of VR/AR/MR experiences for extended periods when performing integration or play testing including use of devices such as head mounted displays, vision, speech and controller inputs.
