Cloud Build currently doesn't support Unity 2021.2.x. We have to use custom CI because of this. But Cloud Build is from Unity itself. Why can't Cloud Build keep up with Unity releases from its own company? The open source gang at Game.CI does a better job of this for some reason.

Cloud Build doesn't support the new Dedicated Server build targets from Unity, and I fear that it will be a long time before it does. We have to use our own custom CI because of this. Why can't Cloud Build keep up with what the other teams at Unity are releasing?

It took ages for Cloud Build to support IL2CPP Windows builds. We had to use our own CI because of that. I hear that maybe it's finally available but since we already need our own CI for all of these reasons, we haven't tried it yet.

It's nearly impossible to do any custom work on Cloud Build, such as building a Docker container out of the build for dedicated servers. We have to use our own CI because of this.

Does the roadmap for Cloud Build include any plans to address this state of affairs, or is this always the way it's going to be? That would be useful to know so we can advise our teams about where to spend their research efforts. (Every month or two, one of our studios asks about Cloud Build, and I waste another couple of hours verifying that it's still not going to help them.)

Update: It seems like it's STILL not supporting Dedicated Server Targets.

    Hi.

we support latest unity versions within an average of 5 days from release. we are separate teams from the editor team.

the following are supported on the platform, as written here: https://unity-technologies.github.io/cloud-build-docs-public/

    • Unity 2017.4.40 * (Legacy)
    • Unity 2018.4.36 * (Legacy)
    • Unity 2019.3 through 2019.4 * (Legacy)
    • Unity 2020.1.0 through 2020.2.7 * (Legacy)
    • Unity 2020.3 and NEWER ** (LTS support)
    • Unity 2021.1 through 2021.2 * (Legacy)
    • Unity 2021.3 and NEWER ** (LTS Support)
    • Unity 2022 and NEWER (Tech Stream Release)
Unity Cloud Build is a managed platform, and as such we do not support arbitrary custom workflows.

We're working on the dedicated server targets topic as well as expanding support for other build target platforms.

Do you have any updates on this? Is the dedicated server target available at this time?
If not, do you have an estimate when it will be available?

    Thank you!
