Cloth Physics Crashes Game/Editor

    Hey all, we have a networked unity game that has cloth physics on the players. Often when starting/leaving levels, our game crashes, and the only thing in the logs/dump files that makes any intelligible mention is PhysX.
    Turning off cloth physics seems to make it work, but that's obviously not ideal.

    Research has shown cloth physics to be pretty buggy in general, are there any known issues/fixes about this?

    With several games shipping with cloth physics working as desired I'd say research has also shown cloth physics in general works too.

    Could the crash possibly be due to something in the setup when the levels initialize? Very simple tests could be done on reducing the polygon count of mesh object(s) used for cloth. Another simple check - confirm no overlapping is occurring with rigidbody and cloth objects on initialization, though this last one usually only results in a bugged out cloth rather than a crash - doesn't hurt to double check.

    What else have you done to attempt to solve?
    Does the game crash when not networked?

    I have experienced the crash as well. It is quite easy and simple to reproduce. Simply add cloth component assign a mesh and then disable it from inspector.

    Same here using Unity 2022.3 LTS when hit the play editor crash
