Does Unity have some sort of clean build option?

I'm having a weird issue. I've got a model in my scene that I modified (outside Unity). In the Game view, I can see the model and it's the correct version. As soon as I hit play though, it seem to revert back to the old version of the model.

I've even gone so far as to completely delete it from the scene, rename the model outside of Unity, and then drag it back into the scene to try and "trick" Unity into thinking it's something new. Regardless, when I hit the play button, the changes that I've made to the model disappear.

reimport acts like a clean, but if all goes bad: close unity -> go to projects/library folder and clean the cache

Here's a pic. This is basically a door with push buttons on both sides.

The top pic is the new version with a button on each side.

The bottom pic happens after I press "Play". That's my old version with only one button.

Anyone know why it's reverting back to that? That model doesn't even exist anywhere any more. It has to be a cache thing of some sort.

Reimport definitely doesn't fix it :(

projects/library? What's the full path for that?

Sorry - I understand now. You mean the Library folder in my project's folder :)

So just delete everything inside the "cache" folder?

    Oooo...

OK, I shut down Unity and backed up my project folder. Then deleted the contents of the cache folder.

Once I started back up, all my textures had disappeared.

Also still reverting to the door with a single button on the frame.

AND it made Unity crash a few seconds after I hit the play button :)

My project is definitely not happy. I'll return to the backup copy and try some other things. Surely if I open the model (Cheetah) and save it into a completely new file, that will then work when I import it into Unity. Will try it.

I had the same problem. Clearing the cache and reimporting didn't do anything to fix this. I re-wrote the same function with a different name and deleted the function it was complaining about. Problem solved. I then renamed the function back to what it used to be and no complaints from the compiler. It does seem like a 'clean' action is missing.
