I cannot open Unity for a error about Chrome Sandbox. How can I fix it?
Operating system? Version (OS)? Version (Unity)? Detailed error?
You can fix it by following the instructions in the error text (chown root chrome-sandbox; chmod 4755 chrome-sandbox), or by reinstalling directly to the folder from which you plan to launch (i.e. don't unpack then copy).
This same issue is preventing me from packaging Unity on NixOS, since packages are installed into a read-only filesystem where the setuid bit is not allowed on executables (a sensible security measure for a package manager). I need the ability to tell Unity to look for chrome-sandbox in a different, more secure location
