    A good way to see if it's a redirect or something else is to get your browser to display the URL linked to the dropdown item you selected. If it's 2018.4 which appear in the URL (see screenshot attachement as an exemple), and you end up on the latest LTS release instead, there is a problem. If it's not 2018.4 which appear in the URL there is also a problem. Out of curiosity, which page was it that did not work out like you expected when it happened to you?
