Chinese users comments on Unity's China Special Edition

    Chinese users are commenting on below things:
    1. Personal edition users have to activate license everyday. (these days it is automatically activated by one-day extension);
    2.All users including paid users get pop-up advertising when they open up Unity Hub since version 2.3.3.
    3. Users get pop-up advertising when they sign in asset store.

    There are many details on this website zhihu.com ( a website looks like quora). Maybe money is very important to Unity now, but to act fairly to Chinese users.

    I think Unity suspect that an unusually large portion of Chinese dev's are sticking with the personal licence when they shouldn't be.

    That would be my guess at least, given that China is not exactly renown for it's respect of IP.
