Checking for Updates...(and checking...and checking...)

    So we've had to disconnect from the internet to prevent checking for updates, because our project takes about 5 minutes to do so.

    Can you explain what's going on during this process and help me understand why it needs to take so long? Shorter projects are no problem, but our current project is legacy and rather large.

    Also, the editor seems somewhat sluggish when Collaborate is working (i.e. there's an internet connection)...am I imagining this?

    Hi @Jobahed! You're not imagining things. This was a known issue in how Collab handled larger projects at startup. We've just finished adding a fix that should come out in the next patches of Unity up to 2017.2. We'll update on the forums when the fix is out.

    Great...what about the long "checking for updates"...will that be faster also?
