CharacterController Platforming (Why is this still a problem?)

    I've been using Unity for a few months now so this problem isn't that rough on me but why hasn't this been fixed yet? (First source is from years ago)

    It seems like it would be simple to do...


    I figured out a (somewhat "hack"-ish) way to forcibly slide the character down depending on it's position but why hasn't anyone taken care of this issue altogether?

    (Also, I'm just using 2D game screenshots as an example. I'm specifically speaking on behalf of third person type games)
