    yes, the free version do not need any script and animation, it even do not need changable armor part, just a 'complete' character weared his armor and sword . it only use for user place it in their scene to see if it fit the surrounding envirment. and by use mecanim, user may test their own animations on this free character. i think the 5th male character which weared leather armor may suit for this kind of use.

    what i think is for my indie game, there are 3 major fanctions, barbarian[like conan or viking, or the skellige isles peoples in witcher3], pirate/sailer, lord's army/guard, crusade/knightage
    some of your characters fit bandit/lord's army/guard, i guess the heavy full plate expansion you are just working on may suit for crusade/khightage and some boss enemy, hope may see some character suit for barbarian/pirate later.

    the draw sword from back animation made for 1h, 2x 1h and 1h with shield? i mean one single animation made for both 1h, 2x1h and 1hwithshield? i think that's not a good idea, i prefer to have the animation only use for 1h, so that the left arm do not move while right arm draw weapon from back.

    frankly say I do not like the female characters, they looks not as nice as male one. the pose they stand have no woman feeling, i think they do not need armors, they need more clothes to act like woman and locals[servant, noble, rich, poor, slave, witch, sexy...]. and don't forget make their face more beauty/femaley.

    Wooh this seems very unfair. I bought the asset for $125 after the previous price increase from $100 (at least this time you've mentioned it in advance). So now I have to pay another $30 just to get an update to what I considered an incomplete work in progress asset, yet someone buying it after me will pay $20 less. Far better to support those that supported you as asset is being developed by giving free updates like 99% of assets on store.

    As it goes to female she will have her pose and some anims in the next update. Also in the next update there will be defenitly new skeleton or undead instead :)

    As it goes to the price, yes 30 but youll have full access to what you bought already.
    I put a small price on the update since Im doing this package for almost 4 years now and all updates were free so far. Thats one of the last major updates to thic package. After that Im going to focus on more expansion based content packages with different armor/ weapons or animations and come back to this package with small changes or improvemnts.
    Im always opened for suggestions :)

    Heya ! So while the latest update for the package is still pending I'm making already another update :)

    So whats definitly going to be into a next update:
    1. new skeleton with new texture and normal map
    2. new female standing and walking animations
    3. fixes to leather texture and metalic shirt ;)
    4. fixes to some already existing animations

    I'm also thinking about some hair polishing but I cannot find a proper hair shader anywhere and the standard/cutout doesnt work properly. any suggestions maybe ? :)

    Hi, everything looks really good. But, I have a couple of pre-sale questions. Could you post a video or screenshot of some of the available faces, especially the females.
    Also are the different armors easily tintable. Thanks!

    suggest add an animation for throw knife.

    suggest make a video to show what's looks like in game. such as make an envirment [may be city or forest] , and put your characters in it , some are npcs, one is player, and you use wsad to controll the player move around to show how these characters looks actually in game.

    some screenshot show a character that looks like gerit, that's funny.

    suggest lower the unity version required. 5.3.2 is not a common use. I still use 5.2.4.

    Heya ! to answer your questions:

    @basdrfsda - I'm workking on the faces for female, and yes there will be a video or screens at least but I cannot tell you when. I have a quick fix to make on the female face, though I'd like to polish few things for next update.
    I dont fully understand your second question about "tintable" ?

    1. this animation sounds really good, thanks for suggestions, I'll add it next time :)
    2. I'm working on something like that for the expansion and I'll propably use the system for this package as well :)
    3. who is gerit ?
    4. in this case the version doesnt matter, I'm jjust using the latest version, but it should work properly on older versions as well.

    Sounds good with the faces.

    As far as tintable... Can you change the color of the armor inside of unity. Or do you have to go into the image files to do that? Ideally it would be best to be able to change the color of a piece of armor with code. I know many times that is not the case with character models.

    Ah yeah to color the armor... hm... it can be bad idea since you'll color every piece of the armor like: cloth, leather and metal in the same way. It doesnt work to well if it is not made properly. In some systems there can be another uv map for that, that can color particular parts of 1 iece of armor like in diablo 3, where within one piece you can color some parts of it. this 1 piece can have also 2 different materials. But I'm not supporting and I'm not planning to support any of these, because I would have to change almost everything in the package :p
    I was thinking about that though, but realized that it can be too much.

    Hopefully soon there will be another update for the update I made with a lot less changes :p mostly fixes :) cheers !

    if throwing knives than with the right hand :p
    Oh yeah its Geralt, though I dont see much similarities :p
    Oh yeah maybe just the hair with no color and the scar on the chick but Geralt has more and is more ugly/handsome :p
    And about the unity version I'm using I didn't tried that but I guess not much has changed in package under the unity version from 5.0, so this package should easyli work on all 5.0 and above, and I assume that they should also work on 4.6 and lesser.
    The screens and metalic, specular looks better in new unity but nothing else has changed :p
    And yes its more like a zombiee now. Male armor fits better this shape of body.

    ok, i can mirror it use mecanim's mirror to get the animation for left hand.

    about unity version
    are you sure older version user can open the package made by latest version? guess they even can not download it.

    suggest add 2 animations, one is burn on fire[he try to extinguish the fire in a mad dance], the other is ‘cough, cough’[breath posion air].

    how the process going on more armor/clothes?
    suggest post a roadmap.

    I'm very interest in try this package in my indie game, but i think i may hold a while to see if anymore fine will coming soon.

    Heya ! so throwing knives is cool though I'm planning planning to add more animations to this package except at least 2 female walk and stand.

    I have some 3d sketches already of the expansion 3d armor though I guess it can take a while, since I'm also adding few things to this package with some new update.

    I guess I can delay the hair rework and just focus on polishing the animations + zombie/skeleon and some fixes here and there :)

    The new armor sets will have fur and I'm thinking about some cloaks ! :)

    for zombie/skeleon, i suggest you have a look at what they have be done in skyrim. such as the nord undead warriors with glowing eyes in tomb. they looks fantastic. and note, the skin of these nordic undead warrors is not smooth.

    for new armor/clothes.
    fur is a very good idea.
    suggest add a few blue color part of cloth [like viking]. user can use them mix with some armor to create a clan.
    cloaks? i don't care that. and guess it may clipping with something.

    just buy it. looks good, but have some questions:

    how to use it?
    the demo scene worked, but i do not know how to use your character in my own project.
    there is a character fbx file and a prefab, but i can not find a clue about how to use it.
    other similiar asset just use disable/enable parts of armor to get desire look, such as arteria3d's obm, mrnecturus's skeleton hero. they all without script/coding need.
    as a customer, i call your support. show me a detailed step by step 'quick start guild'.

    the size of your character looks 4 time bigger than it should be. after scale it to '0.25' , it looks right.

    in 'rig' tab of the characters.fbx file , it show 'legacy', not 'humanoid', are you sure it support mecanim?

    Straight to answer your questions:

    1. using it depends on the project you are doing. You propably need to rewrite your scripts. Putting a prefab should give you in your scene a UI buttons to customize the character. Rest, I mean the coding on how you want to do it depends on your project. Check out this:
    Though it uses the previous update package, but works on the same system. Hopefully soon we will be able to see the new update package of Ubrin in this project soon :)

    Try to follow my scripts since they can give you alot. They are simple and short and quite repetitive as it goes to armor or weapon slots. One of the ways is to make a database. Scond is just to set up numbers of everything and turn them on at the time you want it.

    2. if you change the size it is bad to scale the prefab, though you can do it. depends if it is a prototype or not. Best way to scale the characters is to use import fbx scale. For some projects the size of this characters is too small and for some is too big :p Hovewer remember to change to the same scale all armor and animations.

    3. Animations are working properly for the legacy (obviously), for generic and also for humanoids. Change the main prefab to humanoid and the animations as well. You will need to change the y pivot point propably and tweek some options here and there.

    Nice job on the new Version and the new design.

    Been looking for awhile to purchase this ...BUT....hehe always a but, i am finding your updates and adding new stuff is very slow .....and this is what is been putting me off, also the lack of Animations in the spell casting area with hands & Staffs, Wands, Items.

    Please dont miss understand me or take it personally , i like to see the investmnet i put in is updated as in free updates or payfor extra addons to the main features.

    Heya ! and no worries :)

    I know that the last update was slow. It is due to many reasons. There was a lot to redo and polish. Currently in this package there will be few changes and fixes only. And expect to see new update very soon.

    Also :) I've currently closed 3 heavy armor sets in mesh for the second pack that will be an expansion to this. (so new package that will be as standale and also an expasion to this one)
    I plan to make some new animations though they will be for weapon fighting. Im not sure about spells.
    I have 3 spells fixed now that I'll add to the new update of this package.

    There is alot to do and it will definitly come ! :)

    Hey I recently purchased Ubrin and i am very pleased with the models, but I did want to offer a bit of feedback in the form of critique. First the scripts could use an update, but its not really a big deal, because they do show how to change the armor meshes. Second, the female body does not have nipples. The male has extremely detailed nipples, oddly, but he female has nothing.

    My main issue however, is the Male models lower legs are pretty weird looking and they dont bend correctly. whonkey calf.PNG
    as you can see here the calf juts out quite a bit.

    and when bent it does this weird 90 deg sharp angle thing

    Other than this small issue the models are all very nice.
    Nice work, I look forward to more armor packs.

    Heya ! and thank you for your feedback ! each feedback is very important.

    In replay to the nipples of female it is a delicate thing. It is better not to have them to skip the content for mature for some. Before she had a bra though this time I thought she should go without. I didnt decided yet where to take it or eaither live it as it is like that. (or a free package of texture with nipples :p )

    As iit goes to scripts I will be updating themm definitly, though not with the upcoming update.

    Now the legs, yes, I've noticed the issue of mesh shape as well as the rotation.
    As it goes to mesh shape it might be currently difficult or longer term to fix that (but for the quality I should do that at some point)
    And as it goes for rotation fix I can say that this will be in the next update.

    I'm gathering the updated things now and will propably add more, though this update will be quite soon :) (a month or 2)

    your characters looks nice in my game so far.
    hope the uncoming new armors pack willn't be expensive. you said heavy armor. metal armor or fur armor?
    also look forward your improved new skeleton. do not use white color for the body. it's not bone.

    I'll post soon new screens of heavy armor sketches with fur - so its both :D
    Price depends on the quantity of items, animations and new features really since I'm planning to keep the quality or make it slightly better. (I dont know yet).

    White color of the skeleton will be changable, so you'll be able to swap it easily :) you can color material albedo you know :p

    Also I'm fixing and adding plenty of things to the ubrin package :) :) :)

    before I'll put any expansion screen I'd like to share what will be in the next free update within this package and what is already done:


    Update 8 (Work in Progress)
    5.54 - new mesh of skeleton with new texture and normal map
    5.65 - fixed female normal map and fixed 10x female face textures
    5.68 - fem anims idle, look around and walk
    5.77 - fixed animations: look around, spell1,spell 2,spell3, roll, attack2, attack4, attack5, attack6,
    5.78 - New Throwing animation !
    5.79 - fixed rotation of legs in some animations
    5.80 - 1 fix to leather_1 with specular on the shirt fix


    These are work in progress but most of them are already done.
    I'm not sure if I'll menage to put the new hairstyles in this update but
    I'm thinking of reworking some weapons and armors and script fixing.

    I found an issue.
    the characters allways open mouth. they close mouth in scene window, and open mouth in game window and ingame.
    I wonder how to fix it.

    I prefer to have a real skeleton body, but not the zombie like one.
    the skeleton body in v5.51 is too low quality. suggest remake it. need better skull and better sternum. there should be air between ribs. make the skeleton body like real skeleton. make the zombie like body real zombie, or make it as an alien race.

    I allready use your spellcast animation for throw knife. hope the uncoming throwing animation is designed for throw knife, not a throw grenade animation.

    at the mean time, how to fix the 'open' mouth issue?

    1. Whats wrong with an open mouth ? Send me print screen please if possible.
    They open mouth in some animations and in some they have it close.

    2. It is either skeleton or zombie. For now Ive remaked the skeleton for zombie skeleton/ though he is rather skeleton.
    Though if I remake the skeleton I'll put a shirt on it since it better fits the customization system. If not than there will be some invisible holes around neck or arms or legs in the armor.

    3. I've totally changed the spellcasting animations - all 3 :D I'll post a movie soon with animation changes.
    And It is more throwing knives animation than a granade :) so its fast with a move of a hand and arm, but not the shoulder.

    4. Hopefully soon I'll post some screens with new armor :) (3 sets of heavy armor)

    i have an idea, make skeleton body parts as armors. by this way, all character may use a skeleton body part.
    if you stick to your zombie, then i suggest make new zombie like walk/idle/bite animations[like in other zombie game] for zombie.

    i guess the new spellcasting animations are 1st for right hand casting, 2rd for left hand casting, 3rd for 2hand casting. right? guess so.
    about the throw knives animation , hope it looks nice.

    I recorded a 14min demo video of my indie game. it have your skeleton character as enemy. you may see how it look. yes, with mouth open. it looks like the open mouth issue is not only for human.

    To answer your questions you are right to the spell casting animations. As it goes for Zombie/Skeleton I'll think about it.
    As it goes to open mouth I think I see your point and I'll think about what can I do. maybe I'll just switch off the animations of mouth in the animations. I'll see once I'll be closer to releasing an update.

    Just an FYI - the "challenger" from the blacksmith has a semi-custom facial rig, so can behave strangely (eg open mouth) with stock animations. You'll have to look at the custom parts of that rig and fix them if you are not using the facial rig and wrinkle maps and things made for the blacksmith demo.

    the open mouth issue only exist on poboczny's characters. the challenger does not have that issue.
    by the way, my indie game has been greenlit, hope to see more/better/fixed characters from poboczny in furture.

    Hello Poboczny,

    Nice Update, just bought Worth every penny in 30$.

    But i still have issues with implementing mecanim retargetting animation from Mr.Nectrus.

    Character keeps switching place on the X/Z axis when animating :(

    Can you try a retargetting with Humanoid Rig ( Not Legacy ) please and tell me what i am doing wrong.

    Heya ! Did you tried to set up the root bone in unity for each animation ?
    This should help as it goes to humanoid Rig.
    I tried it this way with the mecanim exaple animation project and it worked perfectly.

    Yes, when you click on a fbx file of an animation in unity editor, than go to the rig option in the inspector, change it from Legacy to humanoid (set up a proper avatar) and go the animation and scrolling down you will see the add root bone.
    At 36:36 in this tutorial you can check how to do it:

    This video and your work is sooo inspireing ! :)

    One thing to fix is to take off the chest armor (cloth/leather shirt in this case) when you put a metal chest armor.
    Models are made to wear a vest or a chest armor piece, not both at the same time.

    To make a statement :) I'm quite buissy untill Wednesday, but next weekend I'll be working on the update with many fixes, that should take me about 2 days so I'll be releasing a new update (free) for the package in about a week and a half :)

    Do you intend to add 2-handed weapon attack animations, or should I anticipate needing to animate that myself if I purchase this?

    Also, maybe I'm mistaken, but it looks like there are older versions of the armor in the pics on your website that might be different than the iterations in the pics on the asset page. Were those replaced by new versions, or are they also included?

    Heya !

    Currently I dont have a 2-handed weapons animations. They are in my plans but not for this package. Maybe/propably for the expansion with heavy armor.

    For the pics, there is a unity asset store error that show an older version of the package which is numbered 4.24.
    But the latest is: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/56230
    which is a version 5.51

    (oh yeas you mean an old link in my signature - sorry, my bad and thanks, I just replaced it with the latest one :) thanks :))

    Within next patch which I'm currently finishing I'd ask the asset store to depreciate the 4.24 version.
    Everything from the new package replaced the old ones. I will not make such moves in the future, like replacing again the armor that you see right now in the 5.51 version.

    I'm planning to update the shields, weapons and hairstyles though with some new and fresh design :) (not in upcoming update).

    I've made a movie, but it looks like I still have some small fixes to do with female stand and walk animations.
    So let me fix those today and I'll try to make a movie for tomorrow.
    If I upload a movie that means that the update is pending review :)

    Oh yeah ! Done ! Making a movie and uploading it ! :)
    This update will not be final, but I'm getting really close to a final release of Ubrin :)
    Final means that only small bug fixes or really small adjustments will be made to this package after a final release :)
    It also means that all the expansions will come sooner and faster :)

    Very nice.

    Is there a chance you could put a script in to SAVE the character you have made in the Character Creator?

    The reason i am asking is i and i am sure there are many other people out there the cannot code/programme.
