So I really want to rename my game enrgy to something else because I have grown to seriously hate the fact I named it that. I think it's really a terrible name now, and I want to release kind of an update and second pack of content for it, and make a website and try to get it registered as web searchable IP. But I want to do it under a different name if I am going to put more effort into it.

Has anyone changed the name of an app on the iOS app store? What process did you go through?

Right now I am thinking of just taking the app in it's current state, rebranding and renaming it, and resubmitting it to the app store for free with all the content enabled, so that anyone who bought it isn't losing anything. Then resubmitting the old app with a note on the title screen that says 'This game is being renamed and rebranded as _____ click here to get the new one". Then leave that out there for a month or so and then delete the old app.

Seems to me theres gotta be a better way or something. Is there anyway I could email everyone who bought the game with it's old name? Or just change the name directly?

you can just change the name in iTunes connect on a new version

I guess to still have this thread be of use in some way

Is there anyway to change the com.company.app certificate name you sign the app with?

You have to create new distribution certificate if you want to use different bundle id. And that means it will be a new app in the App Store.

The name and keywords can be changed with new versions - which causes the review count to drop back to 0 (without hitting 'all') . The description and pricing can be changed anytime. And Agent_007 has it right, changing the bundle id requires a new app entirely.

    Other tidbits:

    * If you update the name and don't make any other changes, Apple may reject it.
    * Review times are semi random for both new apps and updates. I've ranged from 3.5 hours to 11 days.

The bundle name is not relevant anyway. My racing game Highway Run had a different name before which Apple didn't like so I had to change it.
So my bundlename is still the old name and completely different to Highway Run. :)

BTW if you just change some small bits in the game so the hash or filesize changes a bit - Apple will always approve the update.
