Changing character colors and outfit

    hi, i wondering how can i change my character color and adding outfit in games? like most rpg game where we can select outfit for our heroes, wearing armor, coloring the jacket or so?
    is it done by having so many of full character mesh? like having one guy with jacket and other guy with armor? or can i just add the piece of armor or jacket into one character mesh?

    yea free and thank you, but it require unity pro to works and i'm using unity free.... well if only there is someone got a keyword for google or some documentation about it or even a tutorial, it will be livesaver hahahaha
