I saw a message on the web site saying:

“We’ve updated our Terms of Service and software agreement to reflect recent changes to our business model. We’ve also updated our Privacy Policy to better reflect our current data collection and use practices.

We use cookies to ensure that we give you the best experience on our website. Click here for more information.”

Anyone know what the bottom line is?

Anything the average Joe Developer needs to be concerned about?

I looked and couldn’t figure out what changed.

    Thanks.

The thing about Cookies isn´t really anything new that they are doing, the only change is now that some new law somewhere requires you to give a cookie warning. They have always used cookies, now they just have to tell you about it.

the first part is about the new subscription model.. it is a huge change and there have been 2-3 blog articles you should really read.. see the blog section of their website.

Companies update privacy policies all the time. Don't worry about it. If you are paranoid about your private data you probably shouldn't be in game development.

If you're paranoid enough you actually read the entire ToS, EULA and whatever else they have ;)

To see what changed: use the Internet Wayback Machine and copy the earlier text. Compare both in a diff tool. Sometimes it's just rephrasing for clarity, other times they slip in a requirement to give up your firstborn. And on rare occasions there's a cash reward for having read the EULA.

You make that sound like it is a bad thing. As long as there isn´t child support involved, have at it! JK
