Currently the installer for unity hub didn't let me choose where to install, and most importantly, i was not able to choose the install location (or i didn't see how to) for a new unity installation. I think its very important to have this feature, as i do not install most programs on my c drive and i know many other windows users also do not. Secondly, the descriptions for templates are not fully visible, but can be read via the tool tip.
Hi, The custom install location did not make it in time for the beta release but it's definitely something you will see in the coming iterations. Thank you for the feedback and stay tuned. Your C drive should be relieved quite soon! Cheers
This should be your number one priority, because it is unusable for me (and many others I'm sure) until this feature is added.
Hi all, We understand this is an essential feature and are doing our best to have this in for the next update. Cheers,
Here is a workaround using M_R's suggestion of a symlink. Tried and tested this before I recorded the clip. It works very well for me.
@tenorgames It's now possible to select where the Hub installs Unity. This shouldn't be an issue anymore. Best,
This doesn't work for me using Unity Hub 1.6.1. Please see https://forum.unity.com/threads/unable-to-change-download-directories-unity-hub-1-6-1.670864/
