Resolved (Case 1174221) 2019.3.a11. Orthographic camera in the scene tab has always free aspect ratio

Ok, as the title said, I just can't find how to switch the aspect ratio from the orthographic camera in the scene. Change the aspect ratio in the game tab works only for this game tab and don't helps with the scene camera

I have never seen functionality to adjust the scene view aspect ratio in any unity version. It's also not listed as a new feature for 2019.3.

Why do you think it's a 2019.3 issue?

 

ok, I have tried to make a picture I am not sure that is the bug on the Unity side. Maybe it is something wrong with my project. Still I have reinstalled the Unity 2019.3a11, made a new project and always it is not working for me. I think 2019.3 a7 was all fine with this.

 

Are you sure the camera field resized in the scene view when you changed the aspect ratio in the game view in older versions? I don't remember that.

The camera preview resizes accordingly though.

Edit: it works for the perspective camera in 2019.2.0f1; it doesn't work whatever the camera in 2019.3.0a11.

 

ok, I have made the extremely stupid aspect ratio for the camera 1/5. Don't say you have not used it by making 2D games ?

 

I just reinstalled 2018.4.5f1, the resizing of the camera in the scene view works for both types of camera. It's definitely a bug in 2019.2 and 2019.3. I don't know about 2019.1 but I suspect that it's there too.

You can report a bug in 2019.3.
