Unity 2019.3 takes 4 times longer to open an empty project than Unity 4.6.

    Reproduce
    • Use hardware similar to the PC I used to submit the bug-report
    • Restart the PC
    • Start 4.6 and either create a new project or open an empty one
    • Write down the time it took until the editor was ready
    • Start 2019.3 and either create a new project or open an empty one
    • Write down the time it took until the editor was ready

    Actual
It takes 4 times longer in Unity 2019.3 to create a new project or open an existing empty project than in Unity 4.6.

    In my test:
    Unity 4.6 = 17 sec
    Unity 2019.3 = 76 sec

    Expected
Newer Unity versions should not get slower. They should be at least as fast as previous releases.

    Note
Make sure both Unity versions are installed on the same disk. I've installed in a non-SSD drive.
Make sure both projects you open are located on the same disk. I've installed in a hybrid-SSD drive.
