    Hey guys.
We are proud to introduce this terrain, Carpathian Mountains.
    Asset store link: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/3d/environments/landscapes/carpathian-mountains-terrain-137829

    Carpathian Mountains
This environment package is ideal for your adventure missions on desktop or mobile platforms. It is highly configurable and the assets look perfect from close up making it ideal for first person games. The Unity terrain blends seamless into a low poly surrounding mesh, which in turn blends seamless into a terrain baked onto the skybox to create the feeling of an endless landscape of mountains.

    Geology: Carpathian Mountain
As an oceanic and continental plate converged, the marine sediments were scraped off like a bulldozer. These wedges of material were compressed, folded, and metamorphosed into great belts of very resilient rock. As the surrounding area was eroded away this mountainous range was left exposed.

    Rocks:
A set of 12 rocks and boulders. These are Mossy rocks and work well on all parts of your scene. All rocks are low poly with multiple LODs and mobile ready with high res textures in case you need close up approaches.

Geology - Rocks: Country rock, basement rock, garden rocks
These rounded stones tend to reside in low lying areas where they have accumulated over long periods of erosion. Originating from inland mountain belts and carried only by glaciers and the most violent floods; their long journey has given them a smooth and fertile rock surface which fosters lichens and mossy outgrowths.

    Props:
A set of game ready props modelled to suit this terrain. The ruins you find are a stone archways, 2 x short forest logs, 2 x forest tree stumps, a ruined stone bridge, a ruined stone bridge, 2 x forest logs, a broken down building and a hut. All props are low poly with multiple LODs and mobile ready with high res textures in case you are targeting high end devices.

    Vegetation:
The vegetation has been designed specifically for this terrain with 4 variations of beech trees, 2 x salt cedars, 2 x ash trees, a pine tree, 5 x oak trees, 3 x lilies, 5 x violets, 5 x leafy ferns, 5 x colourful lilies, 2 x red mushrooms, a bluebell, 5 x small leafy bushes, 2 x edelweiss, 2 x elephant ears, a saddle leaf and 2 x white leafed trees.

    Multiple terrains:
This terrain is part of a huge set of terrains. By adding more terrains you can add multiple levels to your game. Each terrain will have a similar design style and similar performance specifications. See a complete list of available terrains here: https://www.egamea.com/portfolio/terrains

@ConjureScape why are your terrains so expensive they don't even look that great to be honest, your flyby's of the terrain textures are very washed out. Are you considering in the very near future to reduce the price to let's say 10% of what you asking, in my opinion it's not worth more.

I agree. Youtube compression doesn't do the textures justice. All textures on our terrains are at least 4096x4096 but most are 8192x8192. They're actually super crisp.

Regarding the price: It takes months to make a terrain like this. It's not only a terrain but also vegetation, rocks and boulders, props and a custom rendered skybox. It's really a steal if you think about it. Purchasing these assets individually will cost you several times as much. And making them yourself will cost you months of development.

I think what @truefx001 means, there is not details to terrain texture. It looks almost like single color gray background texture. It need some details. Otherwise it feels like walking on mucky ash, or clay.

See here for example. Ground texture is very low quality.

This one would be nice, but monotony of ground texture kills the feeling and mood.

Is really how Carpatian mountains look like? You got reference photos?
I got different impression, even I pick the grayest / darkest regions.

I am not sure, if that is target art style, but somehow these feels cartoonish

There is lots of details, but composition doesn't play well for me to be honest. Details get lost in much noise.
If you not sure what I mean, look next one. Is just grayscale.

So for my taste, there is plenty to be improved.

Please consider my post as constructive critique :)

Thank you for your comprehensive feedback and suggestions Antypodish. I see what you mean and will look into the terrain texture detail. The art style is indeed slightly more stylised than realistic. We've released more than 30 terrains with different levels of stylism as seen here: https://www.egamea.com/portfolio/terrains. If this set is well received we plan to create a new set aimed at realism, with photogrammetry assets.

Ye, definitely stylized approach is good one. There is demand for it. While realistic approach is really hard to achieve.

I just looked on your link. There is indeed impressive amount of work done there.

But I got also similar concern, to other terrains, I just looked at via videos. While desert terrains seams look fine, (haven't seen too mooch up close), but where you got green foliage involved, closeup terrain texture represents weakest point. That regardless if artwork is stylized or not, since other plants and surroundings are rather nicely textured.

I only suspect, terrain textures have been overlooked. No offence, I would call them placeholders at most at current state. :)

If you fly over the terrain fast/far distance, they may be ok, as low res. But if expecting players making RPG / MMO or relevant, where players walk on the terrain, you want to give best feeling on every detail.

    All best.

    Edit:
Just look at old game WoW (World of Warcraft). Look at the terrains

    Plains, Forest, Deserts, Wastelands.
Just terrain texture is full of details alone.

Depending on your target platform the terrain detail is fully adjustable. Here is a few samples of import settings set to full res (4096x4096). At this resolution the camera can go right up to the ground and the textures will still provide crisp detail.
