Cardboard built app crashes immediately upon launch in 5.6.0f3 with VR support enabled

    Basically almost the instant I launch the app it crashes immediately (on a very brief black screen). Running "adb logcat -s Unity" doesn't even display a single line related to the crash.
    I scrubbed my project completely of the Google VR SDK I was previously using. I've tried all sorts of different combinations of Rendering settings in the build settings. I'm pretty much out of ideas.
    Project was super happy running 5.5.1p3 with the Google VR SDK. My project also contains the Oculus Utilities and Steam VR, but those [in theory] should not be interfering with anything.

    Any suggestions on what to try here? I'm stumped.

    Remove the -s Unity. Most crash reports in LogCat are not printed by the app so filtering for app output won't catch it.

    You have to check logcat output and see why it is crashing.

    The LogCat program gives no response. It just shuts down before the game opens

    I have no information for you on that. I've never heard of `adb logcat` quiting other than the device being shutdown or removed from the USB cable. You'll need to resolve that issue first I am afraid since almost any information that would be useful in determining app shutdown issues would be in the log output logcat provides.

    The error is not a problem with Unity but with the Google VR SDK for Unity. We do not control the SDK nor do we maintain it or support it.

    That said, are you saying that the steps for deleting and re-importing the package didn't work or that you didn't understand the steps outlined by DevGaille?

    this is not there in Unity 5.5. But there the error Unity 5.6. Everbody says dont use 5.6
