almost 1 year since i came here with some screenshot :)

It's normal, as noone cares

Anyway, i come back with some few screens of the now finished Castle of the medieval city.

View from behind the castle in the western inner path:
    western_gate.png

View from a wall, looking at the main courtyard call the Honor courtyard:
    castle_inner_court.png

Fliying view from the west of the medieval city castle:
    castle.png

    All are simple blender renders.
And all this is set up in unity for realtime render.
As noone cares, i won't waste time posting U3D screenshot ( except if someone cares :p )

I'll also post here my struggles and advances on the project technically speaking.
Like the hard time i had with colliders/triggers for helping the visitor moving in spinning staircases.....

For those curious of various screen captures both from unity and blender you can find more at:
    artstation, here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/VdWQa5

and the hole modeling WIP on:
    Blender artist here: https://blenderartists.org/t/carcassonne-medieval-city/1114754

At last but not least i have to mention that the trees used in realtime 3D app and also in those renders come from the AWESOME mTree unity3D plugin that can be grabbed here:
    https://assetstore.unity.com/?q=mtree&orderBy=0
None of you can have an idea of how i suffered trying to make trees and vegetation in past projects.
With this one..... I now just have to care about my own added value: architectural building !
All trees will be awesome even if they're not from me ^^

    Happy unitying !

for surrounding the whole scene, i updated an old script for making it a spline object placer.

Ity allowed me to surround the scene with barriers that are dropped on the ground without doing it by hand one by one....
Here, there are 879 grid barriers with a 16 points spline.

    here's a shot:

next piece of thing is an interaction code used when visiting the place/playing the game.

My main interface is like most FPS games: keyb arrows and mouse.

In spinning staircases this is hell !
Up-arrow and sweeping the mouse for turning....
It's boring enough for making ppl quit the app.

I made a lil script that allows forgetting the mouse in this particular case.

    This script:
    - widens the cam view
    - slows down the movement ( yes, did you try walking normally getting down a spinning staircase ? XD )
    - takes the forward vector and make it turn ^^

this is just perfectly what i wanted and it's damn handy !
Here's a shot of the gamobjects involved:
    spinner.jpg

    Happy unitying !!! :)

Am currently creating somewhat realistic districts....

Not completely modeled but they should give the medieval city a global aspect that looks not too bad ( from far away ).

    roofing.jpg

After this, will be a big update.
I'll compile towards win and droid ( i'll throw webgl away as it's only able to show 100 fishes in a usable manner, but as a S***, it's unable to show 3D wide places ).
I wish someone could test an IOS version as i got no way to test on apple hadware :/
If you got apple hard and wish to help, please tell me :) ( phones, tablet or imacs ^^ )

And i'll also make a lil video.... no spoil i won't say more but imho many ppl should like it 8))

    Happy unitying !

After long hours/days of struggle for making my carcassonne 3D VR app run on linux over vmware ( wich is officially unsupported by unity ), here's the solution:

    add
    vmmouse.present = "FALSE"
    in the vmware config file.
restart linux, and all runs fine now.

now i gonna be able to offer soon the app on linux for download on
    http://kleioscope.fr/carcassonne.html

Next step will be the integration of the inner rooms of the castle in the scene, so that the user can visit them freely, like the whole medieval city :)

    Happy Unitying !!!

It't time for night ambiance in Carcassonne:
    carcassonne 3D at night.jpg carcassonne3D_nuit_lices_basses.jpg carcassonne3D_nuit_saint-louis.jpg carcassonne3D_nuit_saint-louis2.jpg

There's also an simple ambient sound that has been integrated in the application.

    Hope you enjoy it :)

Next big piece to be made is the cathedral of the medieval city.
    ... coming soon !

    Happy unitying !
