Car Setup for PlayMaker [ PC, Mobile - AI ]

Is it ok to remove the old asset pack for Unity 4 from Asset Store this August?

    Also, any chance for the AI vehicles to drive through the loop?

    In this setup car will brake and reverse when an obstacle is straight in front,
    if there is space, will turn around and drive towards target.

    AI physics are same as player so they would go through, not tested yet, now I am interested in that too.

    Hi, Unity 5 pack is available @AssetStore

    [!] Downloaded a test and “Project Settings” won’t import while still on the list.
    I don’t know yet if this is changed now or it’s a bug,
    if you encounter this, download here Project Settings files needed for the asset.

    Great asset, will there be an update with the right Project Settings included ?

    Question: I want to test one of the cars in my own environment, how can i do that ? I tried the prefabs but the keys don't work.

    yes there will be an update later with Project Settings included and with new gameplay features.

    To add your environment:
    copy “CameraController” and “START” game objects from “Game” scene to your scene,
    go File>Build Settings, delete Game scene from list and add your scene to the list (should be with index 2).
    To test it, open Load scene and Play

    İf you add driving sound , sliding and car crash sound it will be better.

    Doens't works properly with Unity 5.1 :

    The UI, the driving car (not A.I witch works) doens't works.

    Just downloaded latest Unity 5.1 and it works all good.

    Please check if you have imported PlayMaker uGui pack and Project Settings files needed for the asset.

    U.I doens't works even with all this. But that's not important for me, the A.I is working, that's all that matters ^^

    What parameter can i change to brake smoothly but not by changind too much the trajectory ?

    Its weird that UI don't work,
    try creating new project,
    1. import Playmaker,
    2. import uGUI,
    3. copy Project settings (might need Unity restart)
    4. import asset.

    About braking, you mean player or AI?

    Can try changing in CarController_AI > Fsm "Movement/Driving" > variable "Brakes_f"

    Is it possible to make the Sportcart2 works with the AI ? Because i tried by parenting it to a AI_Controller but it doesn't works.

    Disable FSM components on wheel collider game objects, only player use them.

    Hello,

    I love this package, thank you to create this !!!

    This is a moment that I was following this package with envy. Then, with a lower price for the summer, I was completely convinced to join the users.

    I was a little disappointed when I saw that the demo of "Car Setup for Playmaker" in asset store is not included (infact, it's not write that it is included, so ...).
    Too bad, it could have made a good start to its use in practice.

    Could it be possible to had nice tire tracks (when the player use handbrake to skid), like in
    "Toon Car Sport Challenge"

    Im sorry to hear you having problems with scenes, there should be all scenes included.

    Please describe what Unity version are you using and to which demo are you referring?


    About tire tracks I will look in to it.

    Hi, so what is going on:

    Rebuilding Unity 5 version, while adding new features, transition from Unity 4, onGui to uGui and learning new Unity/Playmaker stuff every day, I decided it is a good move.
    I will use this asset in my game too so I’m interested it to be better and smoother as a base setup.

    Thank you for your feedbacks here and emails, now I know what things I have to highlight in ReadMe docs/FSMs for more straight forward custom setups.

    Hi, updated the post with a poll,

    question: Is it ok to remove the old asset pack for Unity 4 from Asset Store this August?

    As the asset being continued on Unity 5, I find it confusing that this pack is available from Unity 4.3, but the latest features need Unity 5 at the end.

    Support will continue for Unity 4 and in case to get the old pack I can send it directly, main purpose for this is to clean Asset Store version and avoid confusion.

    Your thoughts?

    I only use Unity 5,so the old package can be removed. (That is my opinion, others can differ)

    Yes with a small edit for AI waypoint Fsm. AI would check player distance and if it is close, change target waypoint to player. When player escapes, AI would follow waypoints again. Something like this?

    Hi, unfortunately not, it is made with Unity 5.
    When update for Unity 5 was made I continued to implement new features in Unity 5 and only later realised that it won’t run on 4.6.
    I will be happy to assist you to replicate features from Unity 5 to 4.6 and I can send you assets as .unitypack in case OS not supporting the new Unity.

    How do you feel about this? I might consider to make some features for 4.6, like rebuilding from Unity5, but that could happen only after the new pack is released..

    Hey dont worry man... i have (and love) the car setup. I have Unity 4 PRO, but don't plan to buy/upgrade to 5 at the moment. If i have a specific request for traffic/AI i'll PM you.

    I need this asset! When is 1.4 going to be released? Also is there ability to adjust friction for drifting?

    Will submit any day now, cleaning FSMs/Commenting/Manuals in the works, then it will take 2-10 days for Unity to review it.
    If you want it sooner, email me with your invoice number and I can send it as .unitypackage. Will send out to all requests this weekend.

    For drifting yes, you can change values on wheel collider components for each car as desired.

    Update is live and still with the lower price as there are some issues with the price change system, got resubmitted and approved two times now, but it did not change.

    Contacted the Asset Store Team, enjoy the “extended” sale :D while we resolve this.

    Awesome! Do you have a video tutorial how to setup the system with playmaker and the simple assets? The documentation is confusing. Same goes to the traffic asset. I purchased both.

    Thank you for the purchase! May I ask which part is confusing? There are slight difference in basic Traffic AI and this Car Setup's race AI. I could highlight the differences more in ReadMe I guess. (be sure you check the latest ReadMe_v1.4)

    Here is my first tutorial, how to set up a car for Car Controller, the idea is the same for Player and AI cars, the main differences are LookAt and Raycast (Racer AI) empty game objects.


    Tutorial without audio :rolleyes: with this awesome 1Poly free asset.

    For Simple assets to work, import Simple Town pack in the project, then you can use all Simple cars prefabs in Assets/Prefabs/Cars_SimpleTown

    I have a question. I have make a game with a character which I control with wasd via playmaker. How can I make it that when Iam close at a Car and press F, I control the car and the character disappear until I press F again and control the character again.

    Could use a raycast to detect a car, then disable the player and enable car’s controls.

    If you are building a open world type game, I would use a pooling system to spawn/despawn around the player for certain distance. Spawner could check nearest spawn points and activated x number of cars. The region around can be a large trigger zone on the player or map in chunks.

    This looks good! Are you working on a camera collision system? As an example; if you back into a building the came clips right through it.
