I am working with Unity 5.3 and am only getting the option to build for Windows from the PC, Mac and Linux standalone option. I also get the message "module not loaded" when selecting other target platforms.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe you did not select them during the install

What Ostwind said. Rerun the Download assistant and select the OSX and Linux standalone build options to download and install.

But it also forces you to re-install Unity.

You shouldn't have to reinstall unity.
I try to pick android, and it says no module loaded, click here to download module, and it installs and away we go

Can you find the Linux Build Target Installer for a specific version of Unity?

Do you not see the "download module" button?
It should take you to the module for that unity version.
They are definitely not compatible with each other.
I recently upgraded twice in a very short amount of time. I went from 5.0.4 or whatever, to 5.(maybe 2), downloaded the module for android, and decided to go all the way to 5.6.4, loaded the module for 5.2-ish because it was already downloaded(dev pc is offline) and it threw an error at me and "do you want to install it anyways?) I said yes, but had android build errors out the wazoo, so I downloaded the current android module. no problems since.
so... long story short, open the version you are using, and you should see a download link for the compatible module.

This thread is not about Android, but Linux (or MacOS).
When you try to use Linux as an export target, there is no download button.

For anyone else who finds this thread, you don't need to reinstall Unity to get MacOS/Linux build support. Open Unity Hub and on the Unity version that you want to add build support, click the three dots and select "Add Modules". Find the MacOS and Linux build support tools and select them. You might have to restart unity for it to take effect

I can't add modules because the boxes are already checked.
