When i open a c# script, the blue loading icon of MonoDevelop just stays there on my screen forever, then i have to restart my computer to fix it. Can anyone help?

Sometimes there is a dialog box in MonoDevelop that pops up behind the loading box. Try force quitting MonoDevelop and reopening it.

Yeah, i saw that box, only I couldn't click on it since the MonoDevelop screen was in my way.
If by forcequitting you mean x-ing it out, you can't, it just does not close for some reason; which is why I have to restart my computer to get the blue MonoDevelop loading screen off my screen.

Force quit as in ctrl+alt+del, opening up the process manager and hitting end process. I would imagine there is some equivalent on a Mac.

Cmd+Option(Alt)+Escape, or through the Activity Monitor app

I would assume you're on a Mac. If not, get Visual Studio Community Edition (Free)

This happens to me the first time I try to open MonoDevelop on my Windows 10 machine. Going to the task manager, it seems the Microsoft Anti-Virus program is causing MonoDevelop to not finish opening. Not sure what it is doing, but there is significant disk-reading by MS anti-virus when MonoDevelop is opening which lasts for about 15 seconds. I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I think then what happens is something in MonoDevelop "times out" and doesn't continue loading properly.
Terminating MonoDevelop and re-opening it then solves the problem.

Are you getting any logs at all in the Windows Event viewer when you launch the program? What happens when you add the Monodevelop directory to the exclusion list in Windows Defender, which is what I suppose you're using.

Also, something I just thought of was turning off Windows Data Execution Prevention (DEP)

If I remember correctly, you can install visual studio with the Unity download assistant on windows. Or you can get the community edition for free from Microsoft. Then just set visual studio as your editor in the Unity preferences, under external tools.
