    Hi,

I've read the tutorials and everything I try, I can't actually get the model animating. It's frustrating.

    I've attached screenshots to help.

Screenshot 1 - Shows that in the Animator window that the "Idle" animation is actually playing.
It also shows me putting the "Animator" component on the object I want to animate with the controller set up.

Screenshot 2 - Shows the models Mesh renderer. I don't know if I need to use the skinned renderer or normal mesh renderer.

Screenshot 3 - Shows the single animation properties.

Screenshot 4 - The animation of the mech

    Screenshot 5 - RIG properties

A rigged character gets assigned a skinned mesh renderer on import. A mesh renderer is for non-rigged mesh objects.

Assign the root bone (master root bone of the entire rig) of the character to the root node slot in image 5 instead of the mesh.
