Can't find unity Tilemap Palette

you don't understand, i'm reinstalling packages every time that i open the same tutorial! and i find problem every time on the same 2D tutorial! Now from last update appear a new error about rider packages. It's most the time that i spend on day in install all packages that on tutorial and project. it's something absurd.

 

Rider package 1.1.1 may have compilation errors if Test Framework package is less than 1.1.1.
Either use Rider package 1.1.2+ or update Test Framework package.

Am I missing something?
The "2D Tilemap Editor" is already installed and I still cannot open the Tile Palette from the Window menu.

 

Did you take a look in the "Create" menu in the project view?

 

The tilemap can be created from the create menu and it show in the hierarchy tab but when I click or double click there does not open anything.

 

Sorry, the tile palette is in Window/2D. You probably need to remove the 2D Tilemap Editor package and reinstall it. Close your project and reopen it afterwards in case it doesn't show in the list.

 

Did it twice with reopening the project, no change. The issue remains.

I'd also do so, cause anyway when you restart the project and have all the packages reinstalled, the issues mostly get solved. This case shouldn't be an exception

 

What to do is when your on your project click window then onto package manager, when you open it click 2d tile map editor and press install in the bottom right then go off package manager and now tile palette will be there

 

I'm using Unity Version2019.2.2f1Personal and can confirm that you have to download 2D Tilemap Editor from Package Manager. Works now!

I had the same issue with 2019.3.14 version of Unity. Once I created a new project outside the scope of tutorials I was able to see Tile Palette

 

Okay, so I am in a 2017 version following a tutorial using the same version. As soon as he opens a scene, there is a tile pallet bar right next to the inspector. I do not see it. I checked the package manager, and it showed that it was installed. In a separate Unity project, I had already copied all of the tutorial creators Unity project and coding.I went there as well, and saw that there as well there was no tile pallet option in the location.

 

If you are using unity 3d you will not find it because this feture is only for unity 2d

Hey so like you I've never found a solution. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, rebooted, uninstalled the 2d tilemap extension, ect ect.

But I think I finally have a solution. Do not open Unity Hub! Just open Unity app. I tested this multiple times and everytime I went to my project through Unity Hub 2D Tile Palette is missing. If I just open Unity instead it is there. I'm literally going around to every board I've seen this question to post this solution.

 

See my Reply above. It seems to be an issue with Unity Hub and not Unity. Open Unity without Unity Hub and it will appear. I dont know why, but this worked for me when every other solution did not.

Thank you. Window > Package Manager > 2D Tilemap Editor > in the right window, bottom Install.
Note: I installed 2019.4 a week ago, and downloaded the tutorial project (Plaformer), and it didn't automatically add the 2D Tile Pallete.
But it's working now!

hey i found the solution so basically you might have selected the 2d platformer menu. i closed and opened a other project in the 2d sprite mode so yeah that must be the problem good luck

 

Was having the same issue with the tutorial as of 2021 March. Solved it by doing Window->Package Manager, and then install the package "2D Tilemap Editor".
You'll then see GameObject->2D Object->Tilemap, and then just select "Rectangular". This will bring up the "Tile Palette" window described in the tutorial.

I already installed the tilemap package over and over again. I restarted unity application also, and I still dont see the 2D function inegrated in windows.

I am using Unity 2021.3.2f1. When I was following tutorial I had the same problem.
1) Please open Window/Package Manager
2) Type '2D' in the search bar. (We need to find in 'Unity Registry')
3) We can see 2D related packages.
4) Hit 'install'
5) Restart Unity and we see Window/2D/Tile Palette.

 

I'm using Unity 2021.3.4f1 and I had the same problem. Here is how I fixed it:
1. Go to Window -> Package Manager.
2. Go to Packages: Unity Registry.
3. Look 2D Tilemap Editor and install it.

Guys, Make sure you don't have any errors from other scripts. If it is fix them.
